First Visit

When you arrive for your first visit, you will be welcomed by our warm staff, who will make every effort to ensure your comfort. Please be prepared to complete all insurance and health information forms that will allow us to begin your periodontal treatment. We will ask you to fill out several forms that will get you acquainted with our office. If you have any X-rays and a referral form from your general dentist, please give them to a team member at the front desk.

The initial comprehensive exam of your teeth and gums generally lasts from 30 minutes to an hour. After the initial exam, we will be able to diagnosis your current periodontal condition and suggest the best treatment method for each individual case.

A thorough knowledge of your medical history, including medications is essential to ensure accurate diagnosis and treatment. This is because your medical conditions and medications can affect your periodontal health. If you have received intravenous medications such as Aredia or Zometa, or are currently taking Fosamax or anything similar, please tell us.

Prior to your appointment, please inform us if you are pregnant, receiving radiation or chemotherapy, have a heart murmur or suffer from hypertension or severe diabetes. Also, if you have a received a heart valve replacement or joint replacement, please let us know.

Patients under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
